Take action to reinstate suspended CCNY student activists!
Protests and letter-writing campaign to reinstate Khalil Vasquez and Tafador Sourov
November 7, 2013
The ANSWER Coalition urges all its supporters in New York and around the country to support City College of New York students who are fighting to reclaim the Morales-Shakur Community Center, seized illegally by the administration three weeks ago. In an attempt to intimidate the growing movement, two student leaders, Tafadar “Taffy” Sourov and Khalil Vasquez, were pulled out of their classes, suspended and banned from campus. They will come before a disciplinary committee for the first time tomorrow (Friday) morning.
While the administration wants these students to agree to stop their political activities in exchange for reinstatement, Suorov and Vazquez have both declared that they fully intend to continue the struggle until justice is won.
Progressive New Yorkers, student and non-student alike, are mobilizing for an important demonstration, taking place simultaneous to the hearing, to show the CCNY administration that we reject this blatant repression and that the students do not alone.

If you cannot come to the demonstration, please take a moment to show your support to the students by writing a letter to the CCNY administration, via email and/or fax, condemning their attempt to intimidate students and restrict their free speech.
